Fort Donelson Battle Anniversary

This annual event honors the key February 1862 engagements of the Forts Donelson and Henry campaign—a pivotal early victory for the Union in the Civil War. The Confederate fort at Donelson, located along the Cumberland River near Dover, TN, was besieged from February 11 to February 16, 1862, resulting in a significant Union victory and earning Ulysses S. Grant the moniker “Unconditional Surrender”.
